Questions about compress pdf
Will compression ruin print quality?
Use High or Lossless when the PDF will be printed. Balanced and Small are meant for email and on-screen reading.
Why is compression not done in the browser?
Strong PDF compression uses Ghostscript and qpdf on the server. The temporary file is removed automatically.
What if the file is already small?
Lossless compression may only save a little. Image-heavy scans shrink more with Balanced or Small.
